What is Copyright?

Copyright grants its holder the sole legal right to copy works of original expression, such as literary works, movies, musical works, sound recordings, paintings, computer progams, or industrial designs, for a defined period of time.

What is Fair Use?

Fair use provisions of the U.S. Copyright Law grant particular types of users conditional rights to use or reproduce certain copyrighted material as long as the reproduction or use of those materials meets fair use guidelines.
